Loan service
Material may be borrowed at the national, international and local levels.
Hours: Monday - Saturday 8.30 - 13.30
1) Interlibrary loan at the national and international levels is carried out according to current regulations.
2) Borrowing privileges are extended to
a) Italian citizens who are at least 18 years of age and who live in the Lazio region.
b) Italian or European Community citizens (who are at least 18 years of age) who can document their research needs and their Lazio domicile.
c) Citizens from abroad (who are at least 18 years of age) who, in addition to documenting their research needs and their Lazio domicile, have a letter of introduction from the Consulate or the Embassy or a cultural institution of international importance and have in their possession a certificate verifying their place of residence.
3) To obtain a borrower's card, users must present two photographs and their identity card.
The borrower's card must be shown each time a loan is requested.
Changes in address and/or telephone number must be reported immediately.
4) Works published since 1901 may be borrowed.
Except in extraordinary cases a user may borrow no more than 2 works (4 volumes maximum) at one time.
5) Works in poor condition, volumes placed in the reading rooms, periodicals, miscellanies bound in volumes, engravings, prints and volumes placed in special collections may not be borrowed.
6) A book may be borrowed for a term of 30 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days if you can demonstrate need for the material and no one has requested it.
It is forbidden for users to loan borrowed material.
7) In order for the Library to perform annual maintenance and inventory, material must be returned no later than July 31st; it is not possible to borrow materials from July 15th to July 31st.
